Emerge supports women and children who have experienced family violence, empowering them to rebuild their lives.
Over the past 40 years, they have empowered thousands of women to rebuild their lives by providing them with a safe refuge and practical programs. They advocate for increased funding for short, medium and long-term crisis and affordable housing, making an impact on behalf of the community they work with and for. Many of the women and children they support are highly disadvantaged, and come from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
They work from a strong evidence-base, to develop innovative solutions, which assists Victoria as being recognised as a national leader in family violence and housing programs.
Emerge is the first of 13 family violence services chosen by the Victorian Government to fund the building of a new refuge centre and to become a fully funded 24/7 early intervention and crisis centre.
They are building a property portfolio through corporate support and in alliance with providers and the Government to support women who are living independently.
